darren hark

senior associate | financial remedies

Darren is a specialist family solicitor who has worked in family law since 2013, qualifying as a solicitor in 2015. He joined AFP Bloom in January 2026 from another leading boutique firm.

His work centres on complex, high-value financial remedy matters: typically cases involving substantial business interests, trust and corporate structures, disputed valuations, private equity, or concerns around disclosure. Many require urgent protective steps and careful strategic management over extended proceedings. He is recognised by the Legal 500 specifically for his expertise in private equity structures and nuptial agreements.

Private children matters also form an important part of his practice, including permission to relocate internationally.

Clients go to Darren for clear thinking and decisive advice. He identifies the pressure points in a case early, builds a strategy that reflects both the legal position and the wider commercial reality, and pursues resolution with focus when it is achievable. When it is not, he litigates with determination. At the heart of all of it are the relationships he builds with his clients: trusted, direct, and genuinely attentive.

testimonials

"A brilliant associate. There are few associates in London who are as switched on. Not only is his preparation immaculate but he understands the nuances of the case. He communicates clearly and is never flustered. His rapport with clients is great: they 'get' him, and he 'gets' them. You definitely want Darren on your side and not on the other side."

Leading Counsel, 1 Hare Court

"He combines first-rate client care with very solid technical expertise and a refreshingly no-nonsense, pragmatic style of advice. He has a feel for litigation, and a sense of what a judge is likely to do, normally only seen in lawyers with far more years' experience. Definitely a rising star of the family law world — and, significantly, a lovely bloke too."
